We made a delicious alphabet vegetable soup to go with the book LMNO Peas by Keith Baker. Our preschooler loved cooking this soup all by herself.

We loved the book LMNO Peas! It was the perfect choice for our first book for our new Book Club Play Dates series! For this book we chose to make the snack but it really could be a whole meal. Our preschooler E wanted to make LMNO Peas inspired alphabet vegetable soup.
We boiled 1/2 cup alphabet pasta in water. In another large stock pot we heated 8 cups of vegetable stock to a simmer. Once warm E added a bag of frozen peas and a bag of frozen mixed vegetables.
She loves using our Kitchen Helper! You can read our full review about the stool here as it is an absolute essential in our home. Obviously you should use caution when cooking with kids. E is knowledgeable about kitchen safety since she's been helping us cook for years. We love to gradually give her more responsibility. She has just recently been allowed to supervise boiling pasta and mixing hot food on the stovetop.
Once the pasta was cooked we drained it and added it to the soup. This was a quick and delicious recipe that included letters and peas just like our book! E wanted to pretend she has her own cooking show:
