This week's Playful Preschool theme is puzzles! You can find all of the team's ideas for the week by searching #playfulpreschool on social media!
I cut the color arcs from craft foam. This puzzle would be entertaining and educational for kids left as it is to learn colors and rainbow order.
Using the craft foam allows the puzzle to be stuck to windows or the side of the bath tub! All you need to do is add a little bit of water to get the foam to stick like we did with our Jack and the Beanstalk craft!
Our five year old is working on spelling her last name while our two year old is learning to recognize and spell his first name! All the names have six letters so it worked perfectly to write a letter on each color. When they put the rainbow in order their name is spelled correctly!
You can see that I edited out our last name here but I couldn't resist sharing this photo anyway! I love how D was pointing to each letter as E helped him name them all. What a fantastic collaborative activity with so much literacy learning included!

Ahhhh so cute, I just dug through our art cabinet and NO foam! Putting it on my list so that we can make this ASAP!
ReplyDeleteThis would be such a fun way to learn about the rainbow and names! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteThat is a really cute activity. I had to think about our kids names and how many letters to see how many colors would be in each of their rainbows. Pinning.
ReplyDeleteLove this activity! Just added foam to our list so we can do this. Now I am thinking of other puzzles we could make for the bath tub. :)

ReplyDeleteSo fun and colorful! And, like Danielle said, a great bathtub activity with some shaving cream clouds!
This is a great activity. I like Danielles idea also, would be great fun for bathtime. Use bubbles for the clouds.
