Toilet Paper Roll Scarecrow | Still Playing School

Toilet Paper Roll Scarecrow

The calendar say September even if the weather today is hot, hot, hot!  It's time for some autumn crafting and wishful thinking about sweaters and pumpkins! We created a scarecrow to welcome fall with this toilet paper roll craft for kids.

To make our toilet paper roll scarecrow we painted the top 1/4 of the roll brown and the bottom 1/2 orange. We left the face of the scarecrow unpainted. The fun part about this is the children can really choose any colors they'd like so a whole class set of these would be adorable together!

I stapled crinkle paper right below the brown section, then cut a matching brown foam ring to slide down on the roll to complete the hat (just like we did with our toilet paper roll leprechaun).

Next E glued on the eyes and a construction paper nose then drew on his mouth.  He looks great on our kitchen windowsill but he'll look even better as the leaves change behind him! He has several fall crafts to keep him company like our egg carton pumpkins and toe print acorns!
