We have been having so much fun playing with water this summer from our homemade water wall to gross motor color mixing. Our latest creation was a water funneling tower made from recycled plastic bottles!

We used two bottles with primary colors to mix together to create our secondary colors. Again, because of the way these bottles are shaped we could add a color to each but the water wouldn't flow down to the next bottle until the kids added more plain water through the funnel.
Once the water level reached the peak of the bottom where the holes were drilled it would begin to flow down and mix with the color below allowing the kids time to investigate what was happening. They made predictions about the colors that would be created.
This post is a part of the series Project Recycle & Create. This month's material was plastic bottles.

That is so cool! I've never seen bottles shaped like that, but you're right - they're just perfect for stacking and a DIY water tower!
