We used craft foam for the body and clothing of our puppets. The pieces stay together with tape but I did reinforce with staples with more durability. For the legs we used a hole punch to make increasing larger circles until our kids' fingers could fit through.
As soon as our toddler D saw his puppet he laughed out loud! Our preschooler E had so much fun acting out scenarios with the puppet of herself and her little brother. Create a whole family of puppets or make a set for the classroom. Children can decorate their own outfits with markers, stickers, and washi tape!
