One of my biggest goals when homeschooling is to allow our children to have as much ownership over their learning as possible. Our oldest has endless ideas about what she'd like to study next so we are going to focus that drive into student planned interest based project learning this year.
Our daughter will fill out this form to narrow her focus on any interests she would like to study. There is space for her to write about the topic, what she'd like to know, and how she plans to attain that information. I will be guiding her along the way and making suggestions as to all the resources available to us.
This form is adaptable to many ages and grade levels. Younger students could draw and label pictures to express their interests. Below, E wrote that she plans to find out how robins find worms by watching them and searching YouTube. I just love kid writing!
I've made this project planner available for our email subscribers as a freebie! I will also be working on a follow up graphic organizer for kids to take notes and focus their research as they learn. All you need to do to have access to these printables is subscribe to our weekly emails where we will share our best ideas to keep your kids playfully learning and you will receive the link to this sheet and all of our other free printables!
